Viareggio- based Codecasa Shipyards depicts the their new CODECASA JET 2020, “as where water and air meet.” The new yacht, with some aviation styling, resembles a Jumbo jet on the water. The 230-foot (70-meter) new project, from Fulvio Codecasa breaks the mold of the typical lines of the maritime tradition as well as of the yachts previously built by Codecsa. The lines are clean and minimal, the exterior and interior spaces are huge.
The forward section of the yacht recalls the cockpit of an aircraft which opens like the bow of a cargo ship to give access to the mooring area. The central body is a kind of fuselage with a large sun deck (the preliminary project states a total length of approximately 66-feet (20 meters) and a width of approximately 33-feet (10 meters). There is a recessed swimming pool of nearly 20-feet (6 meters) x 7-feet (2 meters) with large sunpads and a covered gymnasium.
The sun deck extends until the aft section of the yacht, which develops vertically in a solid shape, recalling the tail of an aircraft. There, the beach club, at the sea level, is served by an elevator and connected to a hallway and a skylounge, with large glass windows accommodating the salon and the main dining room, at the sun deck level.
The main deck bow area is completely devoted to the owner’s suite, while the guests are accommodated in the four staterooms on the lower deck. The crew quarters are in the forward area. The pilothouse, located on the bridge deck is served by another elevator connecting the three decks and is directly adjoined, through a corridor, to the captain’s cabin.
the tacht has a helipad for a helicopter of medium/large size astern and a double tender area on the sides amidships, with air inlets reminiscent of a jet engine.
From the technical equipment point of view, the new CODECASA JET 2020, which is meant to become the flagship of Codecasa Shipyards, is still being finalized. The building most probably will begin in the first half of the year 2020. She will have the newest technical equipment available on the market, such as the radar antennas, which will be installed inside carbon fiber domes, in the typical style of the AWACS airplanes.
The Yacht will be certified by the most important international Classification Societies and Flag Authorities, such as the Lloyd’s Register and the MCA, to ensure that the discovery of new horizons is always done in utmost safety conditions.
