Recently launched Custom Line Navetta 30 offers a new contemporary design and fuel efficiency
Launched in October, the Custom Line Navetta 30 marks a new chapter in the brand’s evolution. At 93-feet (28.43m) in length and with a beam of 24-feet (7.3 m) Navetta 30 reflects a collaboration between the Product Strategy Department led by Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department. The yacht is also the first project with an exterior design by Filippo Salvetti and interior by architecture and design firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel.
The Navetta features a clean, contemporary and linear exterior design and an interior replete with natural, living materials such as leather, wood and rope. The design theme resounds with an unprecedented celebration of light. The sea metaphor is also clearly visible in the choice of blue for the walls and furnishings, as well as for the fabrics and coatings with their custom textures. The constant reference to the seafaring tradition can also be seen in the rounded lines and curves of the interior spaces, furniture and window frames, combined with the use of solid wood, leather and teak.
The exterior lines stretch out horizontally so that the vertical connections between the decks almost go unnoticed. The tinted windows aim to reduce vertical contrasts and impart an emphatic horizontal movement.
Big windows set in the hull, and the decks all feature over 6 ½ -feet (2m) of headroom and include spacious areas in the stern and bow. The exterior decks are designed for socializing and relaxation. There is a conscious integration and interconnection between interior and exterior spaces.
Special attention has been paid to lighting design throughout. Ceiling units on the various decks help create a balanced lighting system in both exterior and interior areas, working in synergy with other more focused light sources to highlight design objects and works of art. The lighting of architectural features like stairways and windows becomes an integral part of the design itself. Decorative wall-mounted lamps enrich the spaces with reflections and light effects, giving them personality. The use of warm dimming technology to adjust the intensity and tone of the light emphasizes the yacht’s domestic side, allowing guests to create different lighting moods and personalize their living experience.
The Navetta 30 has three decks in which she can accommodate 10 guests in five cabins, with a master stateroom on the main deck and four guest cabins on the lower deck. The characteristic feature of the main deck is total integration between interior and exterior spaces. The cockpit can be used as both a dining and living area, with a big convertible sofa designed by Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, facing a coffee table and two armchairs. A sliding glass door leads to the living room on the main deck. Continuing along the deck towards the central lobby, an all-teak staircase links the main deck with the lower and upper decks. On the starboard side forward is the owners’ suite which includes an open study area with a series of windows that are not blocked by furniture.
On the port side of the main deck forward is the fully equipped galley with access from it to the crew quarters on the lower deck. The lower deck aft contains four en suite guest staterooms, The crew quarters are forward on the lower deck. In the stern, aft of the engine room, the garage can accommodate a Williams SportJet 435 tender and a jet ski. The DMT (Dual Mode Transom) offers not only the traditional double door movement, but also an additional feature that keeps the garage completely dry when closed and acts as ramp when open to make it easier to launch and recover the tender.
The upper deck is split into an exterior lounge and interconnected interior saloon for an authentic indoor-outdoor experience. The outdoor dining area, with a big full beam sofa also designed exclusively by Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel and there is dining table seating up to 10. The interior sky lounge has extensive glazed surfaces providing guests with sea views.
The sweeping exterior spiral stairway connecting the upper deck with the sundeck sums up the style of this boat, in which modern materials like exposed carbon fiber alternate with more traditional ones like steel, teak and finely braided rope.
The big side walkways provide direct access to the bow area, where a Sunset Lounge can be fine-tuned according to the owner’s needs, with custom-made freestanding furniture a big sofa facing the sea and two chaises lounges to enjoy the onboard life in total comfort and to relax in absolute privacy.
The sundeck is divided into two areas: a lounge in which the big custom-made sofa by Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel makes a reappearance, creating a sense of continuity with the upper deck and cockpit, and a bar with seats looking out to sea. The entire area can be sheltered from the sun by the bimini top.
Ideally designed to cover long distances with low fuel consumption the Custom Line Navetta 30 is fitted with two MAN i-6 engines rated 800 mhp each and is also designed to use a plug-in hybrid propulsion system (optional) to minimize CO2 and NOX emissions per mile and per ton.
With the MAN V8 engines rated 1000 mhp fitted to the first unit, the superyacht has a transatlantic range of about 2,150 nautical miles at a fuel -efficient cruising speed of 10 knots.
There are four engine options:
• 2 MAN i6 engines rated 800 mhp (standard)
• 2 MAN V8 engines rated 1,000 mhp
• 2 CAT C18 engines rated 1,150 mhp
• 2 MAN V8 engines rated 1,200 mhp
With the last two options, the yacht has a top speed of 15 knots (preliminary data).
The Ferretti Group Engineering department used CFD techniques to obtain enhanced efficiency via a completely new hull geometry design, with tapered stern sections and to achieve more fuel economy, without compromising on interior volumes. To guarantee maximum comfort at anchor, Navetta 30 can optionally be fitted with zero speed function stabilizer fins and a Seakeeper. Comfort at anchor and during navigation has also be increased to unusually high standards for units this size, thanks both to a new damping coupling on the propulsion line, as well as to the evolution of the acoustic insulation. The soundproofing treatments are the result of mathematical analysis targeted at each single source of noise and vibration, with soundproofed ceilings and the installation of a floating floor that reduces sound transmission from the engine room to the other areas.
The raised helm station on the upper deck is fitted with the LOOP system by Naviop-Simrad, which integrates the management of propulsion, navigation and monitoring functions in the same advanced and intuitive naval-style interface, consisting of six 24-inch touch screen monitors (optional). Alternatively, an option with six 16-inch monitors is also available. For maximum safety when maneuvering, the unit has two side bridge wings.
Custom Line puts a premium on safety and comfort and Navetta 30 is classified in CE category Class A, offering exceptional volumes for this market segment, measured to have an equivalent value close to 200 GT.
