While amphibious vehicles certainly aren’t new, Nouvoyage’s Limousine Tender 33 may be the first to combine an amphibious craft with top-of-the line luxury. This 33-foot craft includes comfortable seating for 12 passengers and two crew, climate-controlled cabin with optional galley and head, a lifting roof over the passenger section to aid in boarding and disembarking and a retractable roof over the cockpit. When combined with wheelchair access, customizable interior seating arrangements and top speeds of 28 knots on water and 85 mph on land, this tender may create demand in a whole new market. The best may be that Nouvoyage claims to have eliminated many of the reliability problems and limitations amphibious vehicles encounter. “Nouvoyage has created a platform that breaks through these known barriers with a patented design combining mechanical simplicity with state-of-the-art technologies drawn from leading commercial, military and racing industry advancements. Our platform will benefit existing uses of amphibious vehicles as well as opening doors for many new applications and industries,” says Martin Bodley, Nouvoyage’s CEO. The company has also paid close attention to fuel economy, utilizing commercial series diesel electric drivelines to keep fuel economy high. Bodley, whom we first met at the Monaco Yacht Show, also told us the company is working on a 45-footer for the megayacht market.
