TowBoatUS recently announced two new Florida locations and the major European shows will see two new builds with naval architecture by Hydro Tec's Sergio Cutolo.

TowBoatUS adds two Florida locations

Capt. Shane O’Neal, who owns TowBoatUS locations in Tennessee and Alabama, purchased two additional locations in Panama City and Destin, Fla.

O'Neal, a former Georgia firefighter who once got stuck on the water with his family when his own boat broke down, began towing other people’s boats on Tennessee's Chickamauga Lake in 2008.

“A lot of people think they can call a family member or friend to come get them anytime they break down, but I know from experience that it often doesn't work out that way,” O’Neal said in a statement.

O'Neal's eight TowBoatUS locations, the most for any single TowBoatUS company, are part of the nationwide TowBoatUS fleet of more than 300 locations and more than 600 towing assistance vessels.

Sergio Cutolo displays new designs in Cannes and Monaco

This year, two yards will be showcasing naval architecture by Sergio Cutolo in Cannes and Monaco. First, Cantiere delle Marche will appear in Cannes with Stella di Mare, the new Darwin 96 Explorer. Stella di Mare was built for an owner with a large family and an even larger cruising agenda. The interior volume on this hull has been expanded with a slight deck extension. Because her owner likes to operate his boat, the layout made the wheelhouse an integral part of the skylounge, with only a privacy screen separating the two spaces when desired. Pierluigi Floris and Marco Veglia designed the yacht’s contemporary interior. Extensive cruising plans for this fuel-efficient yacht with a top speed of 13.5 knots, include the Mediterranean, followed by an Atlantic crossing and exploration of the U.S. East Coast and the Caribbean.

Appearing under Palumbo Shipyard’s banner and designed by Hydro Tec, Monaco will host the debut of the 40M Sport Hybrid. Designed with the balance of low environmental impact and large yacht luxury in mind, the 40M Sport Hybrid’s hull and superstructure are aluminum and the yacht is equipped with a hybrid propulsion system. The living spaces on board are spread across four decks with four guest suites on the lower deck and the owner’s suite on the main deck.
