KVH’s New TracPhone V7-IP
Staying connected to land while roaming the seas is always a concern, so yachtsmen are usually on the lookout for the next advancement in communications technology. KVH is introducing the new TracPhone V7-IP, an onboard terminal with a 3-axis antenna system and integrated belowdeck unit. According to the company, “KVH’s new TracPhone V7-IP costs less, is significantly easier to install, and will provide greater reliability” than systems pieced together from multiple manufacturers. “A major upgrade to our pioneering TracPhone V7 system, the TracPhone V7-IP offers a complete end-to-end solution for managing both IT functions and communications on board the vessel. It delivers data at up to 2 Mbps, and has two integrated voice lines that can be expanded to support up to nine simultaneous calls,” says Martin Kits van Heyningen, KVH’s chief executive officer.

Raymarine Releases New Multifunction Display
Marine electronics specialist Raymarine is widening its range. Literally. The e-series multifunction display now includes the new e165 hybrid multifunctional display, which was featured at the HISWA show in Amsterdam earlier this year. Thanks to its clever design, this model, equipped with a new 15.4-inch screen, takes up no more dashboard space than the original 14-inch screen. With three processors—a dual core main processor and a third dedicated graphics processor—, it has a quicker response time. The new model ships at the beginning of October. Raymarine will be at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, Oct. 25-29, Electronics Pavilion 367-368.
