Navionics’ new SonarCharts

Navionics introduces SonarCharts, a community-sourced high-density bathymetric layer that can be used within Navionics Platinum charts and Navionics subscriptions. SonarCharts will gather information from hundreds of sonar systems on board boats that use Navionics charts, which will allow updating information for the ever-changing shorelines quickly and often. Most current boat sonars are sufficient to collect the data so that no special equipment will be required to participate. Navionics will sort and process the data and integrate the information within its official charts. The updates from SonarCharts will be included for a year subscription with most charts. The SonarCharts option is currently viewable on Humminbird, Raymarine, Lowrance and Simrad Yachting chartplotters.

Freestyle your Fun

Custom-built slides are becoming more commonplace, especially on charter yachts, so how do you stand out from the crowd? Superyacht Tenders and Toys and Freestyle Cruiser may have the answer. They have released the world’s first custom built S-shaped inflatable slides. These 41-foot (12.6-meter) Freestyle slides (made of air-inflated vinyl) can be fitted off either side of a 229-foot 6-inch (70+-meter) superyacht’s helideck. The slides come with stairs, ergonomic handles and a cover sheet with an ultra-slick surface.
