You know only captains and crew could have come up with this: a compact, sturdy and inflatable platform that allows doing some hull maintenance without taking a swim or having to unload the tender. It’s called VersiFloat and it is a versatile tool for work or play. Drop stitch PVC material inflates to 15 psi to provide a rigid surface for a set of non-skid deck boards affixed with Velcro. The heavy-duty platform does not look out of place as an extension of the yacht’s swim platform. Different sizes are available with different weight tolerances. The 5 x 10 foot model holds up to 2,149 pounds and a 6 x 12 foot model holds up to 3,306 pound (or about 1.5 metric tons). The platform deflates for easy to storage and a case with wheels makes it easy to transport. The platform comes with secured stainless D-rings, a high-pressure foot pump, suction cups, lines, spare valve assembly and patch kit. VerfiFloat first appeared in 2006 and since, its manufacturers have received useful feedback. Further models are under development. The company also manufactures a non-skid EVA foam-topped model.
