Time is on your side: The Thomas Mercer Classis chronometer
At the Monaco Yacht Show in September, Thomas Mercer revisited its history. In conjunction with Andrew Winch Design, the 130-year-old company launched the stunning Thomas Mercer “Classis” clock. Classis (Latin for fleet) makes reference to the history of navigation’s most important voyages of discovery.

This was the first launch of another busy year for German superyacht builder Lürssen, which has launched as of press time at least one much larger yacht (The 144-meter or so Topaz should be on our list next year). Moran Yacht & Ship managed the project, and Andrew Winch Designs gave this alluring yacht her interesting lines and interior design.

This motoryacht marks the return of the prow figure but, unlike many of the traditional wood carvings found on the prow of earlier vessels, particularly common on 16th century galleons, this “figurehead” is a bird, not a warrior or a woman.
