In our exclusive sit-down interview with industry veteran and IGY Marinas’ Vice President of Marketing and Sales Bert Fowles, we learned about how IGY's network of properties is setting new standards for service and quality in nautical tourism throughout the world, with an unprecedented collection of marinas in the Caribbean and Americas, all catering to a variety of vessel types from small cruisers to superyachts. Fowles joined IGY Marinas in 2007 as a marketing professional with advertising agency, media and international management experience. With over 20 years of hospitality industry expertise, Bert is responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans leading to revenue growth for numerous international marinas. His focus at IGY also includes direction and support to IGY’s 3rd party clients in respect to marketing and sales. He sits on the board of the USSA (United States Superyacht Association) as the Marketing Chair, as well as on the board of the MIASF (Marine Industries Association of South Florida), helping to create measurable growth in the superyacht industry.

Prior to joining IGY, Fowles was Operations Manager for Prime Sports Ltd., one of the Caribbean’s leading casino gaming companies and has also held key marketing management positions in the hospitality and resort industry, including a number of years with SuperClubs Resorts working on brands such as Hedonism, Grand Lido and Breezes. Early in his career, he worked in publishing at Creative Communications Inc., directly managing a client roster that included Air Jamaica, Sandals Resorts and Jamaica Tourist Board. His advertising background was spent at FCB, where his role centered on account management and international client development, managing accounts including Colgate Palmolive, Western Union and Nabisco.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Central Florida, where he majored in Business Administration.
