The world-renowned Nuvolari Lenard design team has been supporting a post-graduate masters program for yacht and ship architecture at the IUAV in Venice for several years. Carlo Nuvolari, Dan Lenard and Valerie Zannier all teach at the school. Giovanni Crosera, a recent IUAV graduate, was an intern at Nuvolari Lenard’s design firm for three months. For a master’s thesis, he tackled a fast-transfer passenger boat to take tourists from Venice’s airport to the city center. Sleek and stylish, this 75-foot boat is more than mere transportation. Crosera chose diesel/electric propulsion to help protect the waters of the Grand Canal and provide the necessary speed to bring passengers to the airport without delay. It would be a great addition to Venice’s famous waterways.
