Evo Yachts must have said “to hell with the boundaries of boat design” when creating the Evo 43 dayboat.
Designed by Italian naval architect Valerio Rivellini and built by Italy’s Sea Engineering Group, the Evo 43 has a cockpit that, at the push of a button or a smartphone app, expands near the stern, increasing the deck space by 40 percent to 270 square feet. The wider entertaining area has built-in sun loungers and an adjustable swim platform. A section of the transom rises up and out, providing a stairway to a high dock, or it can lower for use as a swim platform with steps leading up to the deck.
The 43’s lightweight, Kevlar-reinforced hull and twin Volvo Penta ISP600 engines deliver a top speed around 38 knots, according to the builder, with joystick controls for close-quarters maneuvering. The interior can be customized and sleeps four in a split-cabin layout with a bathroom, galley and dining area.
